PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a bathing agent useful in various fields including cosmetics, quasi-drugs, medicines and others, and having excellent bathing effect by compounding L-arginine as a warm bath component. SOLUTION: This bathing agent contains (A) L-arginine, its ion and/or its pharmaceutically permissible salt (examples of the salt include the hydrochloride, hydrobromide, sulfate, citrate, acetate, maleate, succinate, methanesulfonate and p-toluenesulfonate) as a warm bath component. Preferably, the agent further includes (B) another warm bath component (e.g. an inorganic slat such as magnesium sulfate, an organic acid such as succinic acid, a crude drug such as Cnidium Rhizoma or the like). The compounding amount of the component A is preferably >=0.0001 wt.%, further preferably >=0.05 wt.%, more preferably >=0.1 wt.%, especially preferably >=0.15 wt.%.
