PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide both an apparatus for extracting a heavy metal from a heavy metal-containing organism with a small amount of an extracting liquid and an apparatus for separating and recovering the heavy metal from the extracting liquid and the extracting liquid. SOLUTION: A heavy metal is efficiently extracted with a small amount of an extracting liquid by countercurrently bringing a heavy metal-containing organism sample into contact with the extracting liquid. The heavy metal- containing organism sample which is difficult to carry out the countercurrent contact is dried, granulated, etc., in advance to improve the solid-liquid separating properties thereof. A volatile acid such as hydrochloric acid is used as the extracting liquid so that the extracting liquid is evaporated and concentrated or evaporated to dryness. Thereby, a heavy metal salt which is nonvolatile can be separated from the extracting liquid to reutilize the extracting liquid. |
