PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the internal pressure of wheel cylinders for wheels where a high braking pressure is required, at a constant level with ease and reliability. SOLUTION: A target braking force Fbti for behavior control is calculated in S20 for each wheel, and a target braking pressure Pbti is computed in S50 for each wheel in dependence on the target braking force Fbti. If behavior control is requested in S80, oil pumps are driven and stop valves are changed to or kept remaining in their opening position in S90, upon which, in S100, a higher side braking pressure is controlled to its target braking pressure Pbti when linear control valves regulate the discharge oil pressure of the pumps, and the braking pressures of the other wheels are controlled to their target braking pressures Pbti when pressure fluctuation control valves regulate the target braking pressure Pbti of the higher side.
