PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mechanize removing work of a skull by slidingly supporting a driving mechanism with a supporting tube in a shortening state of the driving mechanism which shifts a tip jig provided with a projecting steeple skull structure as the straight line state, hanging down the front end part of the supporting tube and providing an expandable mechanism, with which the tip jig can be swung in a lateral direction. SOLUTION: When the skull is developed on a molten material surface in a ladle 6, the tip jig 2 is advanced toward the skull in the ladle 6 with the driving mechanism 1. The skull is pushed against the steeple skull structure of the tip jig 2 and broken. Successively, the tip jig 2 is returned back to the original position with the driving mechanism 1 and the residual skull on the molten material surface is scraped to the outside of the ladle 6 with a hoe-like part of the tip jig 2. Further, the tip jig 2 is directed upward with the expandable mechanism 4 and advanced with the driving mechanism 1, and successively, the tip part of the tip jig 2 is descended with the expandable mechanism 4, and the skull and the fireign matter are scraped to the outside of the ladle 6 with the hoe-like part of the tip jig 2 by working the driving mechanism 1.
