PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and simply obtain the subject compound containing various kinds of polymerizable different functional groups, useful as a raw material for a synthetic polymer material by using a specific hydroxyl group- containing polyfunctional aliphatic vinyl ether-based compound as a starting raw material and converting its hydroxyl group to a more useful functional group. SOLUTION: A compound of formula I (M1 is an alkali metal; n is 0.1-3.0; m is 1.0-3.9; n+m is 4.0; x is 1-20) is reacted with a compound of the formula R1 (R1 is an alkyl, an aryl or a trialkylsilyl; X is a halogen), etc., to give a polyfunctional aliphatic vinyl ether of formula II R is an alkyl, an alkenyl, an aryl, a trialkylsilyl, an alkenesulfonyl, an arenesulfonyl or a trifluoromethanesulfonyl; a case in which the group (ROHCH2) and the group -[CH2O(CH2)XOCH=CH2] are wholly the same is omitted). Preferably the reaction temperature is generally 20-25 deg.C and the reaction time is generally 0.5-48 hours.
