PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a high-purity phosphatidic acid alkali metal salt or phosphatidic acid ammonium salt in a high yield, having a high production efficiency. SOLUTION: In obtaining phosphatidic acid alkali metal salt or phosphatidic acid ammonium salt by treating lecithin with phospholipase D, the reaction is carried out by using a halogen-based organic solvent of 5-200 times as much as lecithin and an aqueous solution or an alkali metal salt compound or an aqueous solution of an ammonium salt compound of 0.01-10 times as much as the halogen-based organic solvent and a water layer is separated at pH <=8 to produce the phosphatidic acid alkali metal salt or the phosphatidic acid ammonium salt.
