PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily automatize execution of a series of works and to increase the speed for execution of the works by a method wherein each of cartons carried by a conveying device is certainly opened into a specified shape, and a matter to be housed is thrust through an opening of the carton and housed certainly therein. SOLUTION: For a cartoning apparatus which opens a carton 3 foldable into a flat shape and fills the opened carton 3 with a matter 8 to be housed by thrusting the matter 8 with a filling device 43 into the carton 3 through the opening while the opened carton 3 is being carried by a conveying device 7, holding devices which hold the carton 3 at both sides thereof are provided at the conveying device 7, and the holding devices are equipped respectively with paired holding bodies 28a, 28b and 29a, 29b which come respectively close each other to open the carton 3 into a specified shape when the matter 8 to be housed is housed in the carton 3. |
