An accumulator arm for a felling head has inner and outer amps which are hydraulically driven open and closed. The outer arm includes an aft arm which is pivoted t o the inner arm and hydraulically driven, and a fore arm. The fore arm is biased open agains t a stop, as an extension of the aft arm, but free to pivot inwardly so as to move out of th e way when a freshly cut tree is swept against it by the harvesting arms.
