PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound comprising a specific ethylene derivative, having high safety, exhibiting an excellent pest controlling activity and an excellent preventing activity for the attachment of aquatic organisms, having low toxicity and low residual properties and useful as an insecticide and an acaricide. SOLUTION: This compound is represented by formula I [Q is a group represented by formula II W is a group represented by formula III [X is represented by N-X1 (X1 is a 1-10C alkyl or the like) or the like; Y is H, a 1-10C alkyl or the like] or the like; R is a halogen, a 1-10C alkyl or the like; p is O-2) or the like; A is a group represented by formula IV (G is a halogen, a 1-6C haloalkyl or the like; m is 0-3) or the like; B is H, a 1-4C alkyl or the like], e.g. 2-[3-(2-aza-2-methoxy-1-methylvinyl)pyrazolyl]-2-cyano-1-(1,3,4- trimethylpyrazol-5-yl)vinyl 2,2-dimethylpropanoate. The compound represented by formula I is obtained by reacting an acetonitrile derivative with acid chlorides, etc., and further reacting the resultant compound with alkyl halides. The reactional temperature is preferably -30 to +200 deg.C.
