CATION DYEABLE FIBER AND FIBER STRUCTURE EXCELLENT IN SOFT FEELING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply obtain a synthetic fiber excellent in color developing properties and rich in a soft feeling while maintaining a good touch feeling similar to that of a natural fiber and hygroscopicity and water absorptivity without causing a trouble, undesirable discoloration, etc., of the fiber in the polymer design or in a step for forming the fiber and further in a post processing step. SOLUTION: This splittable type conjugate fiber comprises a modified ethylene vinyl alcohol-based copolymer having a basic skeleton which is an ethylene- vinyl alcohol-based copolymer having 25-70 mol% ethylene content and >=95% degree of saponification and 0.05-10 mol% of a unit derived from 2-acrylamido-2- methylpropanesulfonic acid and copolymerized in the main chain thereof and alternately laminated to a polyester. The fineness of single filaments after splitting treatment is 0.05-1.5 denier and the cross-sectional shape has at least two or more >=20 and <=120 deg. angles.
