PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance workability in penetration and performance after embedding by forming an inside spiral blade having an area substantially closing a pile body inside in a plan in the inner periphery of the front end of the pile body. SOLUTION: An outside spiral blade 3 is formed at the outer periphery of the front end of a pile body 2 opened at the front end and the inside spiral blade 4 having an area substantially closing the inside of the pile body 2 in a plan at the inner periphery of the front end is formed in the same direction with the outside spiral blade 3. When executing the work, a steel pipe pile 1 is forced to penetrate into the ground while excavating the ground by the chief action of the outside spiral blade 3 to assist penetration and taking-in of sand and soil existing in the section of the pile body 2 by the inside spiral blade 4. In this way, the same penetration workability with a steel pipe pile opened at the front end or a higher workability can be secured, and the same supporting force with a closed front ended steel pipe pile can be obtained, and as a complete dry construction work can be carried out, the workability can be improved.
