PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain security of image information to be transmitted by a simple enciphering system. SOLUTION: This system is constituted so as to transmit image data from a transmission side equipment 21 via a communication line 30 to reception side equipment 31. At the transmission side equipment 21, image data are enciphered by an enciphering means 25, while using a characteristic number previously applied to the reception side equipment to become a transmission party, and these enciphered image data are transmitted via the communication line 30 by a transmitting means 27. At the reception side equipment 31, the enciphered image data are received from the communication line 30 by a receiving means 32. While a peculiar number previously stored in a memory 38 is being used, these enciphered image data are deciphered by a deciphering means 34. As the characteristic number, a serial number applied to the reception side equipment 31 is used, for example, and as enciphering and deciphering methods, comparatively simple arithmetic processings as the level of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division is used while using the characteristic number. |
