PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly assemble a segment or the like, even in case an effective space behind a boring machine body is small, by effectively arranging an erector device. SOLUTION: The tunnel boring machine is constituted in such a way that it is provided with succeeding carriages 10 towed by the boring machine body 1 to the rear of the boring machine body 1 and an erector device 15 mounted on the succeeding carriages 10, and the erector device 15 is provided with a beam 18 expansible toward the boring machine body 1 and provided around the axis thereof so as to be turnable around its axis, an arm 19 provided at the front end part of the beam 18 and expansible toward the tunnel wall, and an erector head 20 to be fitted to the front end part of the arm 19.
