An offset change quantity ( DELTA R) is calculated, in a horizontal plane, every given drive control period, based on a horizontal wire movement command (U, V) and the perpendicular clearance (H) between an upper wire guide and a lower wire guide. Then, correction quantities ( DELTA DELTA X, DELTA DELTA Y) for each control period are found from this change quantity ( DELTA R), and are superimposed as a correction value on the horizontal work movement command. Accordingly, part shapes can be accurately reproduced, as given by a program, maintaining appropriate offset quantities, even in cases where taper machining is performed while varying the angle of inclination of the wire.

|
