摘要 PURPOSE:To measure an electrochemical luminescence material with high precision by providing three electrodes, working, counter, and reference, in a liquid sample, and controlling the potential of the working electrode with the reference electrode below the potential at which gaseous oxygen is generated. CONSTITUTION:A working electrode 5, a reference electrode 6, and a counter electrode 7 are provided on the inner face of a plate 2 to face the inner space 3, and a light transmission window 8 is provided on a plate 1 respectively. An aqueous solution containing an electrochemical luminescence material and filled in the space 3 is illuminated on the interface with the electrode 5 serving as an anode, and the generated photons are detected through the window 8. An electrochemical luminescent derivative such as Luminal or luciferin, particularly Luminal, is preferable for the electrochemical luminescence material, and it is chemically reacted with the activated oxygen for luminescence after it is electrochemically oxidized by the electrode 5. The potential of the electrode 5 is monitored with the electrode 6, and it is controlled high to the extent possible below the potential at which the gaseous oxygen is generated. The electrochemical luminescence material is illuminated most intensely, and high measurement precision is obtained.
