PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve pressure tightness and sealing performance by preventing the permanent set of a seal lip under a high pressure condition. SOLUTION: A lip cover 14, attached to the front surface side of a seal lip 13 composed of synthetic resin, is composed of a thin thickness steel plate, and has a bent shape in accordance with the lip 13 in a mounted condition on the outer periphery of a shaft 2. A cap 15, for sealing between the lip 13 and the cover 14 to a machine inside space Si, by closely contacting the outer peripheral surface of the tip part 13a of the lip 13 the diameter of which is expanded by mounting the lip 13 on a shaft periphery, is mounted on the tip part 14a of the cover 14, and a small hole 13d, for opening the space G with the cover 14 to an atmospheric side space S2, is openly provided on the bent part 13c of the lip 13, thereby actuating no high-pressure fluid pressure in the space S1 to the lip 13. |
