PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppers increase in the temperature of a liquid crystal display panel and a lamp itself of a liquid crystal display device having the end face where light enters, by efficiently transmitting the heat generated by the lamp to the frame of the device. SOLUTION: The device is equipped with a lamp reflector 2 which surrounds a lamp 3, and a light guide plate 4 disposed on the back face of the liquid crystal display panel 7 to transmit the light all over the liquid crystal display panel 7, and a frame 5 disposed on the back side of the panel to support the light guide plate 4. A thermally conductive medium 6 is disposed between the reflector 2 and the frame 5 and along the whole length of the reflector 2. By making the face contact between the thermally conductive medium 6 and the lamp reflector 2 and between the thermally conductive medium 6 and the frame 5 respectively, the heat generated by the lamp 3 can be uniformly and efficiently transmitted from the lamp reflector 2 to the thermally conductive medium 6, and further to the frame 5. |
