PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a reflection type color liquid crystal display device capable of accurately forming a color filter with a resin black matrix suitable for a reflection type liquid crystal display device on a reflective functional layer provided in a liquid crystal cell and a reflection type color liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: This reflection type color liquid crystal display device comprises a reflection film 4, a color filter 7 having resin black matrices 7b... formed in each gap of respective coloring patterns 7a... and a liquid crystal layer 12 which are disposed in this order between a pair of glass substrates 1a and 1b. A light-transmissive protective film 5 for protecting the reflection film 4 is formed on the reflection film 4 at the time of electrodeposition and a transparent conductive layer 6 for electrodeposition is formed on the protective film 5 and the color filter 7 is formed on the transparent conductive layer 6 for electrodeposition by an electrodeposition method.
