PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for acquiring effective knowledge from a lot of data. SOLUTION: Concerning these method and system for acquiring the effective knowledge by extracting a concept having a special feature from a lot of data including documents, this system has a concept extracting device and a characteristics concept extracting device. In the said concept extraction 120, concepts by categories are extracted from data including document data. The said characteristics concept extracting device is a device for extracting a characteristics concept out of the said extracted concepts and concerning the said concepts by categories, a concept wherein the ratio of occupancy in a concept belonging to the other corresponding category exceeds a specified value is extracted out of concepts belonging to the same category.
