METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SEPARATION OF MIXED SIGNAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clear signal quality by a method wherein signal waves in which direct waves are mixed with reflected waves generated in a space propagation process are received and reflected waves which are contained in a signal in every arrival direction are separated and removed from reflected waves of the direct waves contained in another arrival direction while arrival directions and their numbers are estimated. SOLUTION: A directivity processing part 101 is provided with L pieces of signal receiving terminals on the input side. Respective direct waves from N pieces of signal sources are mixed with reflected waves generated in a space propagation process. They arrive from K pieces of directions. Input signals at the respective signal receiving terminals generate a delay between the terminals on the basis of their arrival directions. While the input signals are used, arrival-direction numbers K and their directions are estimated without discriminating the reflected waves. Signal components in the K pieces of arrival directions are output. Components in the K pieces of arrival directions and K pieces of numbers are input to a multidimensional whitening processing part 102. A K-dimensional signal processing operation is performed. K pieces of starting signals are separating individually. The reverse characteristic of a whitening processing operation is processed. Only a signal which is colored again is output in every arrival direction.
