PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the cross sectional area of a metal tape securing the pliability and flexibility required for a shielding tape, capable of being wound on a cable core satisfactorily, and sufficient to satisfy the requirement against the earth current on a CV cable, etc. SOLUTION: Figure (A) shows the cross section of a shielding tape when a metal tape is arranged on one face of a semiconductive ruffer tape 1. Copper tape pieces 2 serving as a shielding layer are stuck at fixed intervals on the semiconductive rubber tape 1. Each copper tape piece 2 is laminated with three thinner copper tapes. Figure (B) shows the cross section of a shielding tape pinched with the metal tape by two semiconductive tapes. The copper tape pieces 2 serving as the shielding layer are arranged at fixed intervals on the semiconductive rubber tape 1, and another rubber tape 1 is stuck on them. Each copper tape piece 2 is laminated with three thinner copper tapes like in Fingure (A).
