The invention concerns a device for controlling a motor vehicle parking brake comprising a parking toothed wheel (1) and a finger locking (2) said wheel. The invention is characterised in that it comprises a lever (12) which is urged into its locking position by an elastic force, applied via a control member (9) capable of being actuated from the vehicle driver compartment. A cylindrical thrusting member (7) is integral with a support (5) pivoting on the housing (E) in the wheel plane (1). The lever (12) stresses the thrusting member (7) against the locking finger (2) so that, when a clamping control is exerted, it is caused to pivot together with the support (5) thereby locking the parking wheel when the locking finger (2) is opposite a notch (1b), while the lever (12) is released from said thrusting member (7).
