PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic routing method by which a telephone company offering a lower telephone charge is selected to make a phone call, without having to enter a number of a telephone company in the case of making a phone call to a destination. SOLUTION: A user of a telephone set uses a key operation section 4 to enter and store in advance dial codes of telephone companies desirably in use among toll station numbers and a plurality of telephone companies in a desirable area. When the tool station number entered by a user of the telephone set is matches with the stored toll station number, a dial code of the stored telephone company is dialed automatically, and the entered number after that is dialed in this automatic routing method for the telephone set. Thus, the user can simply select a telephone company offering a lower telephone charge and make a phone call.
