PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary surface combustion burner for substantially uniformly heating an object to be heated such as a bar, a pipe or the like. SOLUTION: A burner is provided for heating an object 11 to be heated such as a bar, pipe or the like, and comprises one or more pairs of burner main bodies 12, each having a square combustion surface 13. These main bodies 12 are each disposed at such a position that the surfaces 13, respectively, are located equally distant from a center axis L of the object 11. The main bodies 12 are rotated on the center axis L, i.e., a rotation axis to heat the object 11.
