PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To print out still picture data by directly receiving moving picture data even when a host device is not provided with a moving picture/still picture converting function. SOLUTION: The moving picture printer is provided with a reception section 1 that receives image data, an interpretation section 2 that interprets the image data to generate print data, a print data storage section 8 that stores the print data, and a print mechanism 9 that executes printing according to the print data outputted from the print data storage section 8. In the case that the received image data are moving picture data including correlation between frames, a discrimination means 3 discriminates the input of the moving picture data, a conversion means 6 converts the moving picture data whose input is discriminated into still picture data, the converted still picture data are fed to the print mechanism 9, where printing is executed. A moving picture processing section 5 provided with the conversion means 6 may be provided with a moving picture storage means 7 such as a frame memory storing moving picture data. |
