PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder for a lithium ion secondary battery electrode for manufacturing an electrode capable of obtaining a battery with high charge/ discharge characteristics at high and low temperatures. SOLUTION: This binder for a lithium ion secondary battery electrode includes a polymer having a structural unit derived from 1,3-butadiene, and 1,2-vinyl structure content of the polymer in the binder is 2 mol% or more but 25 molar% or less.
