<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make recognizable the contents of an electronic mail without opening an attached file of the mail by converting an image file attached to a received mail into a thumbnail, i.e., an image with which the outline of the image file can be recognized. SOLUTION: A received mail analysis part 4 analyzes a received mail and divides it into a header, a text, an attached file, etc. Then, the number of attached files of the processed mail is acquired and stored in a storage part 9 via a control part 8. When the form of each attached file shows an image, the part 4 converts the image into a thumbnail via a thumbnail production part 3. When the form of the attached file shows no image, an attached file conversion part 2 converts the form of the attached file into the image data and then the part 3 converts the image data into a thumbnail. When all attached files are converted into thumbnails, the part 8 displays the transmitter, title and text of the received mail and the thumbnails of all attached files on a received mail display part 5.</p> |
