PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight unit for a liquid crystal display device having few number of part items and capable of reducing the assembling cost and member cost. SOLUTION: This backlight unit includes lamps 22, a base plate 36, the power supply of the lamps 22 provided on the base plate 36, and lamp connecting metal fittings 48 feeding electricity to the lamps 22 provided at the prescribed positions on the base plate 36. The power supply 42 and lamp connecting metal fittings 48 are connected together on the base plate 36. Notch sections matched with the layout intervals of the lamps 22 are provided on the base plate 36, and lamp holders 26 each having a recess matched with the cross sectional shape of the lamp 22 are connected to the notch sections. |
