PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image input device that can transmit data using a memory with a necessity minimum capacity. SOLUTION: An I/F section 7 has an isochronous transfer mode where periodic transfer of data is warranted, image data read by a read section 4 are transferred by each line in the isochronous transfer mode, and the same image data as the image data that have been transferred are a re-transferred in a succeeding isochronous cycle. On the occurrence of an error at first transmission/reception of the image data, the image data retransferred can be utilized. Since the image data are periodically transferred to another device, independently of whether an error has been generated at the transmission/reception of the image data, detention of the image data in the device can be avoided and the memory has only to have a necessity minimum capacity to store the image data.
