A shock absorbing member which is used for an automobile interior member, especially, an automobile drop trim due to its excellence in appearance, lightness, rigidity and shock absorbability, simplicity in structure, and excellence in productivity and cost efficiency, and which comprises a platy unit and lattice-form ribs on the rear surface of the platyunit, and consists of an integrated molding of fiber-containing thermoplastic resin, with an average porosity of the platy unit of 5 to 90%. Specifically, the shock absorbing member is formed of polypropylene resin containing 10-60 wt.% of glass fibers and having a weight average fiber length of 1-20 mm.
