PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a compressing efficiency and performance by using an optimal lubricating oil for CO2 refrigerant. SOLUTION: This hermetic electric compressor 10 has a rotary compressing element 18 driven by an electric element 14 and a rotation axis 16 connected thereto with comprising CO2 as refrigerant in a sealed vessel 12 reserving lubricating oil in the bottom thereof placed and housed, and feeds the lubricating oil to respective sliding part of upper and lower eccentric parts 38, 40 and upper and lower rollers 42, 44 provided in a bearing part and the rotation axis 16 through an oil hole 60, lubrication holes 62, 64, and spiral lubrication grooves 66, 68. Polyalkylene glycol oil (PAG oil) 82 is used having low solubility against CO2 and high viscosity as the lubricating oil. A decrease in efficiency caused by the decrease of an oil viscosity and outflow of the oil into a pipe can be thereby prevented and an input rising is prevented from occurring.
