PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable effective energy absorption by transferring load in a well- balanced manner, while forming a lower body structure of an automobile from a light metal. SOLUTION: In this lower body structure, a flat floor part 7 formed from a light metal into an uniform hollow cross section along the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body and a side sill part 9 are connected together while vertical end walls 33, 39 at their respective ends along the cross direction of the vehicle face each other, to form a floor having vertical walls 29, 43, 31, 45. The intersection 51 between the upper portions of the end walls 33, 49 and the upper walls 29, 43 of the floor is located outward of the intersection 53 between the lower portions of the end walls 33, 49 and the lower walls 31, 45 of the floor, along the cross direction of the vehicle.
