PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record characters and images of a high quality by preventing a density decrease even at high-density parts and restricting bleeding of outlines even in recording of an interlace system. SOLUTION: Image data is transferred to an outline-extracting means 202. Image data of an outline part and image data of the other than the outline part are extracted at the outline-extracting means, and transferred to a first memory means 203 and a second memory means 204. An allotting means 205 allots the image data of the outline part and image data of the other than the outline part to a first nozzle group and a second nozzle group. A dot- recording head drive means 206 drives nozzles of a dot-recording head 101 on the basis of the image data allotted by the allotting means. The dot-recording head 101 discharges recording dots from nozzles and records the recording dots on a printing medium.
