PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition having the inhibitory activity of synthesizing hepatocyte cholesterol in humans and capable of human serum cholesterol level and/or serum neutral lipid level without the need of dietary restriction or exercise instruction by including a specific stilbene-based compound and/or the like. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by including pref. 0.0001-5 wt.% of at least one kind of substance selected from stilbene-based compounds of the formula [A and B are each a halogen, amino, a saccharide residue, OR1 (R1 is H, a 1-5C alkyl or the like), OCOR2 (R2 H, a 1-5C alkyl or the like) or the like; n and m are each 0-5], polymers and plant extracts containing them; wherein the compound of the formula is pref. a compound where at least 3-, 5-and 4'-positions are substituted with hydroxyl groups, saccharide groups or groups OCOR2, being pref. derived from at least one kind of plant selected from the group consisting of polygonaceous plants, vitaceous plants, veratrum and mulberry. |
