PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a woody molding for wood pattern to be used as a matrix for the wood pattern when a mold for manufacturing casting parts, such as automotive parts or machine parts is manufactured, and a method for manufacturing the molding. SOLUTION: The woody molding for a wood pattern comprises at least 55 wt.% of woody powder obtained by molding a powder material composed mainly of 20.5-45 wt.% of heat-curable resin and 80-55 wt.% of woody powder, having density of 0.90-1.30 g/cm3, bending strength of, 3.0-8.0 kgf/mm2, Izod impact strength of 2.0-4.0 kgf-cm/cm2 and dimensional change rate of 0.2% or less. In addition, a method for manufacturing this molding is provided.
