<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tunnel excavating machine for replacing an existing conduit capable of constructing a new conduit having a larger diameter than that of the existing conduit easily and efficiently even if the existing conduit is meandered and bent while the existing conduit such as an old sewer is being broken and removed. SOLUTION: A cylindrical hood 8 is connected to the front of a tunnel excavating machine A so as to move in all directions and swing freely, and coated on the rear end of an existing conduit D through a sealing material, while the rear end of the existing conduit D is being cut into prescribed lengths by a cutter C within the existing conduit D and removed sequentially, the rear outer-periphery ground of the existing conduit D is excavated by the propulsion of the tunnel excavating machine A. The cylindrical hood 8 is brought into sliding contact with the outer periphery of the existing conduit D and moved forward, thereby laying a new conduit E rearward according to the advance of the tunnel excavating machine A.</p> |
