Method for applying a visual image and a fragrance image to a flexible carrier using a printing device provided with two or more ink cartridges, each with one or more spray nozzles for ink of different colour and control means for these spray nozzles for the purpose of spraying the ink in accordance with a determined program, wherein at least one ink cartridge with spray nozzle is replaced by or partly modified into a fragrance cartridge with spray nozzle with the same configuration and connecting contacts as the ink cartridge, wherein this fragrance cartridge is driven by means of an associated, optionally separate drive program.
