PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a high purity aqueous titanium tetrachloride solution of stable quality on an industrial scale while preventing the generation of hydrochloric acid gas and the deposition of solid matter due to heat generation. SOLUTION: Titanium tetrachloride is fed into water in a reaction vessel 1 and reacted with the water to deposit titanium oxide hydrate.
