agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: sod drill has rotavator section with working members made in the form of L-shaped knives and equipped with sod tillage depth regulating mechanism. Rotavator section is mounted on frame and covered with housing. Seed guides, seed box with seeding units and covering rolls are arranged in housing rear part. L-shaped knives are disposed on outer and inner sides of rotavator section disks and are equipped with tine, wing with bent part, cutting edges and rear edge. Wing bent part is made trapezium-shaped and is bent upward at right angle with respect to tine. Sod tillage depth regulating mechanism may be made in the form of bracket adjustable in vertical plane and equipped with supporting skid mounted on rotavator section. Drill of such construction is used for sowing grass seeds into sod. EFFECT: compact and simplified construction, reduced power consumption, improved quality of sod tilling and sowing grass seeds. 2 cl, 4 dwg
