Analyzing results obtained on a biochip comprising a series of reference probes with associated mutated probes comprises determining differences between measured hybridization levels and preestablished distributions. Method for analyzing the results obtained on a biochip comprising a series of reference probes with associated alternative probes, where each reference probe hybridizes to a specific portion of a reference nucleic acid that is shifted by one or more bases from one probe to the next, and the alternative probes have a mutation relative to their associated reference probe, comprises: (a) measuring the level of hybridization of target sequences to the reference and alternative probes; (b) determining the differences between the measured levels and preestablished distributions representing statistically where the measured levels would be found if the target sequence were identical to the reference sequence; and (c) analyzing the differences for adjacent reference probes and at least one corresponding alternative probe. |
