The chair has a frame, pref. of wood, with upright back (37) and long board (36) which acts as a backrest and is hinged to the top of back (37). When seat (35) is moved into a vertical position, board (36) can be moved to form a horizontal table or ironing board, support at one end by seat (35). Two cupboards (44) can be provided below seat to accommodate bottles, glasses, etc. when the chair is converted to a bar.
