PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously reduce reflected light of light coming from outside and secure sufficient display luminance, by providing a metal reflection surface on the rear side of a light emitting portion, arranging a polarizing/separating plate on the front side of the light emitting portion, and arranging a linear polarizing plate on the front side of the polarizing/separating plate. SOLUTION: A light emitting portion 5 comprising a phosphor light emitting layer is integrally interposed between a transparent electrode 10 and a metal reflecting surface 6 comprising a metal plane electrode, and a glass plate 11 is integrally laminated on the front side of the transparent electrode 10. A linear polarizing/separating plate comprising a scattering anisotropic film 3A is laminated on the front side of the glass plate 11, and a linear polarizing plate 2 is integrally laminated further on the front side of the linear polarizing/ separating plate. For performing the integral lamination, for example, a transparent and optically isotropic adhesive such as an acrylic adhesive is used. The scattering anisotropic film 3A transmits linearly polarized light having an oscillation surface in parallel with its transmission axis, and scatters linearly polarized light having an oscillation surface orthogonal to it, cancels the polarization, and reflects the light.
