PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and effectively arrange and manage a recording medium such as tape by discriminating the prescribed attribute of a signal recorded on the recording medium, reproducing the signal from the recording medium and displaying reproducing conditions corresponding to the discriminated attribute. SOLUTION: In this information signal display device, a reproducing part 10 reproduces a magnetic tape and the reproduced signal is recorded on the magnetic tape by a recording part 80. A system control part 40 performs inputting/outputting from the outside and controls respective parts, a user input part 30 instructs various kinds of setting, a caution part 60 detects the alarms of respective parts and the operating conditions of respective parts or the like are displayed on a display part 70. A cassette detecting part 11 of the reproducing part 10 detects the recording system of the loaded magnetic tape, a discriminating part 17 discriminates the attribute of a reproduced signal amplified by a reproducing amplifier part 16 or the like, the results are respectively reported to the system control part 40 and the instruction of prescribed processing is outputted therefrom.
