PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric resistor (a ceramic heater and a resistor) having a flat coating film with no projection. SOLUTION: One face of a coating film comprising an alloy which contains one to three kind(s) of element(s) selected from the group of (Cr, Mo and W) and Si as essential elements, in which the total of Cr, Mo and W is 0.8-33%, and of which micro structure contains eutectic structure comprising Si as a structural component is fused on the surface of a ceramic base material 3, and the other face is exposed to the outside air.
