PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage controlled oscillator whose oscillating frequency is not fluctuated by maintaining non-conduction of a switching diode even when a resonance frequency signal with a maximum amplitude is applied to the switching diode that is made non-conductive through the reception of a band switching voltage. SOLUTION: A switching element is connected in parallel with a 2nd resonance inductor 22 being a component of a resonance inductor, a band switching voltage that makes conductive or non-conductive the switching element is applied to the switching element. The 2nd resonance inductor 22 is connected to ground when the switching element is conductive to switch an oscillating frequency band in the band switching type voltage controlled oscillator. The switching element consists of a 1st switching diode 26 and a 2nd switching diode 27 connected in series with the same polarity, and a cathode terminal of the 1st switching diode 26 and the 2nd switching diode 27 connected in series is connected to ground and an anode of them is connected to a resonance inductor and a frequency switching voltage application terminal 5 respectively.
