PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce wear caused by the mutual contact of blocks by forming one of the front and rear faces of mutual contact faces of the blocks, as a resin coated face, and forming the other face as a metallic core material face in a high load transmission belt with an endless carrier engaged with the engaging grooves of a plurality of blocks slidable in a longitudinal direction. SOLUTION: This high load transmission belt 1 is formed by locking the engaging grooves of a large number of blocks 3, 3' to the endless carrier 2 slidable at least in the longitudinal direction of the belt 1. Each of the blocks 3, 3' is formed in approximately U-shape having two beam parts integrally connected on one side and opened at the non-connected side end part. The blocks 3 with the engaging grooves opened on the left side, and the blocks 3' with the engaging grooves opened on the right side are alternately arranged. In this case, the front face side 3a in the proceeding direction of the belt, of the blocks 3, 3' is formed of a resin material, while the rear face side 3b is formed of a metallic material. A friction coefficient between the adjacent blocks 3, 3' is thereby small to reduce wear.
