PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to change, easily at a desired time, a chord incorporated in an automatic accompaniment. SOLUTION: A CPU 101 conducts the automatic accompaniment by processing sequence data stored in a ROM 103. During the automatic accompaniment, it identifies a user-designated chord from among a combination of keys pressed in an accompaniment key zone of a keyboard 107. When all the keys in the accompaniment key zone have just been released, the last identified chord is fixed as the user-designated chord. The fixed chord is incorporated in the automatic accompaniment at the time when a measure starts. Thus, a chord change is conducted at a previously determined time during a performance. |
