PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize the length of an interconnection path within an electronic assembly by extending several conductive traces to one side surface, installing a contact end within almost the plane on the side surface, and making jointable to a co-operating contact of a mating unit. SOLUTION: A printed circuit board 90 is interconnected to a circuit board 92 arranged with intervals with an interconnection circuit board 94 having a side interconnection device. A pair of elastic conductive contact assemblies 96 and 98 are installed on each side of the interconnection circuit board 94 to achieve elastic compression interconnection between the contact end of the circuit board 94 and each contact end of the circuit boards 90 and 92. A holding metal fixture holds engagement of the contact end of the circuit board with a conductive column of the contact assembly, and can contain an element for being jointed with a back plane or other interconnection device contact. The contact assembly itself can contain an engaging element to hold adequate contact engagement.
