PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data base utilizing system in which a data base on a host computer can be used from a portable computer without ruining operability or reliability and safety of the data base. SOLUTION: A host computer H, a job computer G and a repeater computer R are connected with a network N. A portable computer K is connected to the repeater computer R by way of a portable telephone network M. The repeater computer R is activated by the portable computer K and accesses the data base by a means common to the job computer G. The repeater computer R manages a picture being displayed on the portable computer K and, in updating the picture, only difference information from this picture is transmitted to the portable computer K. Also, only operation input data are transmitted from the portable computer K and the information meant by them is interpreted by the repeater computer R on the basis of the picture being displayed.
