PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily observe a sample at a time of use as a probe for a proximity-field light microscope. SOLUTION: An optical fiber is constituted by successively providing a first core layer 31 propagating light of a single mode, a first clad layer 32 propagating light of a multimode, a first support layer 34 for forming a slope, and a second support layer 35, and sharpened at its one end by chemical etching to be changed to a multistage inclined surface. The diameters of all of the first core layer 31, the first clad layer 32 and the second clad layer 3 sharpened by chemical etching can be made longer than before because of the five-layered structure of the first core layer 31, the first clad layer 32, the second clad layer 33, the first support layer 34 and the second support layer 35. |
